Senior Programs

The Golden Connections Walking Group program provided seniors with an engaging and enriching way to stay active, socialize, and connect with their community. Beyond regular group walks in local parks, where participants could enjoy physical activity in beautiful natural surroundings, the program also offered a variety of exploratory outings. The group visited local historical sites and the Montréal Botanical Gardens, where they learned about the city’s rich cultural and natural heritage. Additionally, participants discovered new malls and attractions in and around Montréal, giving them a chance to explore their city while fostering curiosity and adventure.

These outings were designed not only to promote physical well-being but also to create opportunities for social interaction, strengthen community bonds, and build a sense of connection to their environment. By combining exercise with exploration and education, the Walking Group program aligned perfectly with the Golden Connections objectives of enhancing social inclusion, encouraging physical activity, and fostering a deeper connection to the cultural and natural treasures of Montréal.
